Taita Taveta Youth Alliance (TTYA) celebrates the successful training of 150 young wastepreneurs through the Chamber Business Academy, conducted by KNCCI through the Jiinue Growth Program.
The training focused on youth enterprise development, waste management, circular economy opportunities and pathways to green jobs.

YOUTH IN LEADERSHIP: LEADING TODAY 🇰🇪🌍
"Today, I had the opportunity to participate in the Africa Challenge Radio Programme at Sifa FM, under the theme “Youth in Leadership: Leading Today.”
We explored an important reality: young people are not only leaders of tomorrow — they are leaders today.
Leadership is not defined by a title, political position or office. It begins with seeing a problem, taking responsibility and acting to create change.
From entrepreneurship and innovation to environmental conservation, mentorship, community service and civic participation, young people across our communities are already demonstrating leadership every day.
We also reflected on the importance of integrity, accountability, mentorship, meaningful youth participation and intergenerational cooperation in building responsible leaders.
As young people, the challenge is simple:
SEE THE PROBLEM.
TAKE RESPONSIBILITY.
LEAD THE CHANGE.
You don't need to wait for a title to become a leader. Start where you are, use what you have, and take the first step.
“Let no one despise your youth…” — 1 Timothy 4:12

YOUNG INNOVATORS & ENTERPRISE PLATFORM | CASE STUDY
From high-value agriculture to 200 jobs. 🌿
Our field engagement continued at Chalar Farms Ltd., Kasokoni, Chala Ward, Taveta—a Kenyan herbs enterprise producing Basil, Tarragon, Chives, Rosemary, Oregano, Thyme, Sage and Lemongrass for high-value markets.
With approximately 200 employees, Chalar Farms demonstrates how commercial agriculture can move beyond production to create employment, value chains and market opportunities.
We also agreed on a comprehensive follow-up site visit and youth exchange programme, coordinated through the Taveta Sub-County Administrator, to give young people practical exposure to the full production process.
Chalar Farms will be documented as a Young Innovators & Enterprise Platform Case Study in our ongoing mapping of promising enterprises across the County's 20 wards.
Agriculture. Innovation. Employment. Markets.

Today, we participated in the Kenya Social and Economic Inclusion Programme (KSEIP II) stakeholder engagement at The Avid Hotel, Voi.
KSEIP II marks a transition from the consortium-led, learning-by-doing approach of KSEIP I to a Government-led implementation model, moving from mapping to actual implementation.
The programme is set to expand from 15,000 to 28,000 households and from 10 to 20 counties, with a strong focus on economic inclusion, livelihood diversification, climate resilience, women’s empowerment and adaptive social protection.
For Taita Taveta, evidence-based targeting and meaningful community participation will be critical to ensuring that the most vulnerable households benefit.
From mapping to action. From vulnerability to resilience.
